NEWS: Anna Meredith shares ‘Stoop’ from Anno her collaboration with The Scottish Ensemble

Anna Meredith has shared ‘Stoop’, a new original piece of work taken from Anno. The new collaboration with the Scottish Ensemble (out Aug 17 via Moshi Moshi) sees original work by Meredith weave into the unmistakable compositions of Vivaldi‘s Four Seasons.

Sewing contemporary and classical textures, the vibrant and unpredictable ‘Stoop’ is the final composition in the Spring movement of the project. The track is available on all streaming services now, as well as YouTube with accompanying animated visuals by Eleanor Meredith.

The Anno project began as an immersive 360 degree live experience but will be available on double vinyl, CD and digitally for the first time from 17th August via Moshi Moshi. After a recording process using the unusual ‘binaural recording head’ the project will also be available in an exclusive binaural recording – allowing the listener to experience the unique spatial aspects of the piece through headphones. Anno is available to  pre-order.

The release of Anno was announced earlier this month alongside two compositions ‘Low Light’ and ‘Ice’, which merge into one another as they do on the recording. ‘Low Light’ is an original Anna Meredith track which segues into the first movement of Vivaldi’s Winter (from The Four Seasons), which has been retitled ‘Ice’.

Anna Meredith is currently in the studio writing the follow up album to her excellent debut Varmints.
