‘Seventeen’ is the lead song from Beech, the 7-track debut EP from elkyn, the musical project of the Leeds-based 22 year old song writer and multi-instrumentalist Joseph Donnelly. With his distinctively dreamy voice and the song’s delicate guitar accompaniment, ‘Seventeen’ is one hundred and eight seconds of subtle intimacy and elusivity.
‘Seventeen’ is complemented quite perfectly by a video filmed and edited by James Robert Sharp (http://sharp.film/), the amorphous footage conveying the song’s innate sense of unhurried movement, tranquility and a love of simple pleasures that remain tantalizingly just out of reach.
