NEWS: Elizabeth Fraser announces Sun’s Signature EP, her first release in 13 years

Elizabeth Fraser has announced her first new release in 13 years.

On Record Store Day, 23rd April 2022, she will share a new five-song EP under the name Sun’s Signature – a project she’s formed with her partner Damon Reece, who has played the drums for Spiritualized and Massive Attack.

The self-titled EP will feature her haunting 2000 single ‘Underwater’ and two songs she played during an appearance at 2012’s Meltdown Festival, ‘Golden Air’ and ‘Make Lovely The Day’. Completed by new tracks ‘Bluedusk’ and ‘Apples’. The EP will be released via Rough Trade and pressed on black vinyl, housed inside a single sleeve jacket and printed inner sleeve. Limited to 8,000 copies worldwide, details are here

The Cocteau Twins singer’s last release came in 2009 with the single ‘Moses’, although she has collaborated with Oneohtrix Point Never and Jónsi since then. She also joined Massive Attack for several performances on the group’s Mezzanine anniversary tour.

The release is one of hundreds of new records that have been announced for this year’s Record Store Day. Returning for the 15th year, RSD will see hundreds of vinyl, CD and cassette releases sold exclusively through independent record shops – with over 260 stores in the UK and around the world taking part in the celebrations.
