EXCLUSIVE: Dead Method ‘Marwolaeth’ Video Premiere

Today we are debuting the vivid new video from Dead Method, his Welsh language song ‘Marwolaeth‘, taken from his new album Future Femme. This heartfelt song is invested with Dead Method’s swelling vocals that explore the nature grief, swelling with synth motifs and electronic textures.

It was animated by the super talented Molly Allen and funded by Pyst/Lŵp/S4C as part of their new music video fund initiative. Watch it below.

He says: “The song was written a few months after the completion of the rest of my album and served as the last piece of the puzzle. I was grieving during the writing process as we had lost a couple of family members. This was my way of exploring my grief and honouring their memories. I chose to write the song in Cymraeg because it reflected the celtic roots of my family.

For the video I wanted to create a representation of grief and how grief is often just all of the love you didn’t get to express when they were here. I explained my concept to Molly Allen, who created the video, and she was able to create a beautiful animated version of the vision inside my mind. The result is everything I wanted to express, captured through Molly’s amazing artistic lens.”

Dead Method has released his new album Future Femme. Produced by Edward Russell (Inside The Groove), the album is a reinvention of Dead Method’s signature witty pop motif that explores his experiences as an LGBTQ+ artist, and features collaborations with MADITRONIQUE, Jack Rua and Brendan Maclean, as well as a mixture of English and Welsh language lyrics.

Dead Method is a pop star for the new age, whose music plunges deep into the depths of alternative electro-pop with a dark edge as he explores life itself. From love and loss to politics, gender and more with sobering honesty and poetic flair. He has previously supported the likes of Georgia, Public Service Broadcasting and 65daysofstatic on their Welsh tour dates.
