NEWS: Lea G expresses teenage emotion in her new EP, SURVIVAL MODE

Austrian born singer-songwriter, now based in London, Lea G  has released her much-anticipated EP SURVIVAL MODE following a series of singles that have drawn up a vast online following. Falling in love with music from the age of 6 after singing in her school choir, Lea made the decision to pursue music full-time in Autumn 2019 when she decided to attend Notting Hill Academy of Music studying songwriting and A&R. SURVIVAL MODE is a whirlwind of emotion, and is best characterised by its bold yet relatable messages conveyed through catchy hooks and nostalgic melodies with influences from Jeremy Zucker, Sigrid and Florence and The Machine

Throughout the EP each track is a combination of Lea’s unique ability to create alt-pop which crosses over with singer-songwriter elements. It’s a blend of fresh pop energy about typical thoughts and emotions sometimes experienced in 20 year old relationships. It’s clear that Lea G’s inspirations come from a broad range of genres, with a unique sound that blends alternative pop and folk in a warming way. On ‘IRRELEVANT’, the intro begins with a laid back flow of synth bass and claps then develops into a distortion infused rock chorus which packs a punch. By mixing acoustic guitar with anthem drums and pulsing synths, ‘SUICIDAL’ is a deeply personal track that doesn’t fail to convey raw emotion through the gentle build of melodic atmosphere and instrumentation, exploring the depths of suicidal thoughts and coping with them.

This EP is a demonstration of what Lea G is capable of – bold sounds, impressive vocal stacks and a roller coaster ride of emotions portrayed beautifully through song structure and arrangement. SURVIVAL MODE has something for everyone, and is a statement why Lea G is someone to look out for.

SURVIVAL MODE is out now on all streaming platforms.
