NEWS: Lambrini Girls share video for ‘White Van’

Known for their queer punk anthems and fierce Riot Grrl verve, Brighton’s Lambrini Girls have just shared a video for their latest single, ‘White Van;’ a song about catcalling and facing up to the aggressors. After setting the bar sky high at The Great Escape’s opening night and becoming infamous on the live circuit for their raw feral, untamed and ultimately euphoric live gigs, they have just been announced to open for Iggy Pop for his Dog Day Afternoon at London’s Crystal Palace on 1st July. Their debut EP, You’re Welcome is set for release on 19th May via Big Scary Monsters

Speaking of White Van Lambrini Girls said,

This one goes out to all of the cis men….sitting in their car screaming at us in the street without consequence. You’re an idiotRolling down the windows of your Ford Transit and screaming ‘f*cking beautiful’ won’t make anyone rip their clothes off and give you head behind the Kwik Fit…. Do better, love Lambrini Girls”

Recently the band were named as part of the NME 100 and as well as supporting Iggy Pop, they are set for a huge list of live dates including their own headline tour in May/June, plus performances at Are You Listening?, The Great Escape, 2000 Trees, Truck Festival, Rebellion and many more.

Phoebe Lunny (Vocals/Guitar – she/they) and Lilly Macieira (Bass – she/they) have a strong artistic bond over their creative common ground – hot button societal issues combined with a biting, tongue in cheek lyrical style all their own.

Debut EP You’re Welcome is out 19th May 2023 via Big Scary Monsters, and contains previous single ‘Help Me I’m Gay’ which Phoebe used to come out to her mum, as well as ‘White Van’, other tracks include ‘Boys In The Band’ that’s about calling out abusers in the scene, and ‘Terf Wars’ which is pretty simple – Transphobia has no place in feminism. ‘Mr Lovebomb’ looks at altering behaviour in relationships, and ‘Lads lads lads’ is about toxic masculinity.
