Video of the Week #246: KOSCHKA – You Can’t Bear My Love

Berlin-based artist KOSCHKA releases her new single ‘You Can’t Bear My Love’, out on 17th March 2023.Today we are debuting the striking accompanying video featuring KOSHKA in a bath fully clothed, writhing in heartbreak, watch it below.

Consuming with its enveloping atmosphere and woven with intimate harmonies and hanging heavy with a soulful introspection, ‘You Can’t Bear My Love’ is the result of a heartbreak and yearning in the face of longed-for love. KOSCHKA’s brittle vocals shiver through earthy percussion and subtle brass, it covers you like a warm duvet of melancholia.

Talking about the track, KOSCHKA elaborates, “This song is expressing the specific feeling of waiting and understanding a love without having any confirmation of it really existing, or knowing if it there is a future. For me, it’s one of the most important songs on my upcoming album – it’s real, it’s intimate. It needs time to develop.”

KOSCHKA – aka Edita Karkoschka – is a singer, composer and music producer currently based in Berlin. KOSCHKA fronted the German-Dutch indie-pop band NAUSICA until the end of 2019 and has played concerts all over Europe until 2020, when she decided to fully dedicate herself to her solo project KOSCHKA. In 2018, KOSCHKA released her first single on the label Part du Decor Records with the beautifully minimalist track ‘The Flood‘, followed by a second release of the song ‘Abendstern’; her first adaptation of a classical piece with the original title ‘Abendstern D 806’.

In November 2022, KOSCHKA released the first single ‘Tiefes Leid’ from her upcoming debut album, due to be released in Autumn 2023.
