The musician and author Baxter Dury embarked upon his I Thought I Was Better Than You tour last month in Rouen in northern France. Taking its name from the title of his seventh studio album which was released last June to widespread critical acclaim, the tour has already seen Dury appear in France, Germany, Hungary, and Romania. Before he returns to Europe and a series of festival appearances both home and abroad, though, he is playing five dates in the UK and Ireland, the first of which was last night at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music in Gateshead.

Daniel Robson was there with his camera to capture the action for GIITTV, later saying, “he was absolutely brilliant; one of the best live shows I’ve seen in a long time. I’ve been wanting to catch him live for about eight years now; so glad that he did a gig up here.”

God is in the TV is an online music and culture fanzine founded in Cardiff by the editor Bill Cummings in 2003.
