Following on from the digital release of the Marriage remix EP in late February, Gold Panda is issuing the stunning results as a 12″ vinyl especially for this year’s Record Store Day on April 16th. The 12″ is a limited run of 600 and is sure to be highly sought after.
Alongside that, a number of those featured on the disc will also be appearing at Gold Panda’s biggest ever headline show, just announced for Koko, London on 6th October. Manchester-based artist Star Slinger, currently renowned for his hypemachine hogging remixes and solo tracks, is the first support to be announced, with further, very special guests to be announced, Tickets are on sale now.

The London headline show will cap of a busy 2011 for Gold Panda. Having already played a sold out tour of the US and been one of THE name at this year’s SXSW as well as debut Australian shows, the artist will be playing across Europe and North America again this spring and summer. Full list of confirmed dates below.

Capping off a stunning 2010, Gold Panda was awarded the Guardian UK’s First Album Award for his efforts on Lucky Shiner. Announced in late January, the competitors included Marina & The Diamonds, Mount Kimbie, Ikonika, and Stornoway amongst others. Described by the Guardian as “a combination of warm, lo-fi electronica, a patchwork of crackly samples and melodies that stick”, the newspaper based its decision upon the fact that Lucky Shiner was “the album the panel have found themselves coming back to the most.” A fair and enjoyable old-fashioned reason for issuing the accolade. Lucky Shiner also made many end of year lists by Pitchfork, AOL Spinner, Stereogum, Mixmag, Rough Trade, The Independent, Drowned in Sound and more.
