Conor J O’Brien from Villagers was today nominated for an Ivor Novello Award in the category “Best Song Musically and Lyrically” for the wonderful Becoming a Jackal from Villagers’ debut album of the same title. The Awards ceremony will take place in London on 19th May.

Meanwhile, Villagers’ new single The Pact (I’ll Be Your Fever) is due for release on 23rd May. The accompanying video is a mostly black and white affair featuring the band jamming in what appears to be somebody’s lounge room, somebody with a penchant for odd artwork and collectibles, including a naked reclining Buddha gnome, that is! Directed by Myles O’Reilly of Arbutus Yarns, The Pact video can be viewed here:

Villagers recently supported Elbow on their UK Arena Tour. The band will be back on the road throughout May with a Shepherds Bush Empire show in London on Saturday 21st.
