Avi Buffalo return to the UK for three dates

One of 2010’s brightest breakthrough bands, AVI BUFFALO are set to return to the UK for three dates in July as part of a short European tour, including an appearance at Primavera Sound in May.

Last year, the Long Beach, California-based band’s Sub Pop debut scored plaudits across the board for its melodic ingenuity, densely layered lyrics and virtuoso guitar playing. It rightly made the end-of-year lists. A postcard of tortured teenage life in the sunshine state, it’s a cracked, summery dream of an album – perfect for these July shows. Having only played a handful of club gigs and festival slots in the UK so far (including two performances at last year’s Glastonbury), these shows will doubtless be the last chance to check the band out before they begin work on their second album.

11 July – BRISTOL Thekla
12 July – LONDON Koko
14 July – LEEDS Brudenell Social Club
