LISTEN: Beau and The Arrows – Levy

Beau and the Arrows 1

After creating a quiet storm with their previous singles, Beau and The Arrows are set to release their next ‘Levy’ on 29th August through Happy Release Records. The follow up to ‘0.7.9.3’, the latest single showcases a personal and reflective side to the band, punctuated once again with the dual vocals of Beau Carter and Jasmine Foley.

Nostalgic but never pastiche, ‘Levy’ still retains the band’s youthful intensity from previous BBC 6Music approved singles. Despite offering an arguably more urgent sound compared to their previous singles, the young band have already forged their own cohesive and definitive sound; a theme which runs through their forthcoming debut album, ‘Future Kicks’.

Singer and songwriter Beau says: “The song’s title refers to the political tax students have had to face with the whole fees fiasco. The song reflects happier times because at the moment Britain is experiencing such high unemployment, and it’s our generation that’s suffering the full consequences. The songs feel good sound is just a mask over the harsh reality we are in at the moment and shows that despite all this, we’re still a very positive generation.”

Since moving from a solo project of singer/guitarist Beau Carter to a four-piece, the band have had huge initial interest from Steve Lamacq at BBC 6Music and John Kennedy on XFM, as well as recommendations from The Stool Pigeon, The Independent and many influential blogs. Continuing what has already been a huge year in the short history of the South East London band, Beau and The Arrows will continue to gig throughout the year in the run up to the release of ‘Future Kicks’.

Beau and The Arrows will launch ’Levy’ with a free entry gig at Dalston’s Shacklewell Arms on the 23rd August. ‘Levy’ will be available to download from iTunes and all good digital retailers on 29th August 2011.
