Preaching from the Pews: Chapter 24

chapter 24MySpaceFaceBook

I first saw Chapter 24 live in the Brixton Windmill this May and I was bewitched, from the guitar that ranges from scrappy art-punk to tropical whimsy to the juddering, loose-limbed and twitchy drumming and burbling funky bass, they’ve finessed an instantly appealing, spiky sound that has Claire Smith’s vocal as the icing on the cake, switching from Bow Wow Wow-esque barks and stammers into doe-eyed coos, they’re an arresting, punchy and lively band both on stage and on record.

‘Spindle’ was released on a double A side 7inch by Oddbox Records this week, watch the video below.
