‘Never’ is taken from the band’s new album ‘Your heart, it carries the sound’, out on 20th February.  We’ll also be streaming the album on the release page leading up to the 20th February release date.  Starting this week, we’ll be putting a new song up every Monday – the opening song, the title track, is up now.  The album will be available for pre-order from early February with a few interesting options including a limited edition full-length album remix project (featuring Fieldhead, slowsecret, Sone Institute and many others).
Album information
Based in Manchester, Last Harbour play “swooning dustbowl baroque” (Plan B) that is “rich and foreboding, tracing a thread back to the post-industrial soundscapes of Joy Division”.  Their new album ‘Your heart, it carries the sound’ was written in a remote Northumbrian cottage in October 2010 and recorded in St Margaret’s Church, Manchester in April 2011.  The songs were recorded almost entirely live, with producer Sam Lench employing the church’s architecture to create a sense of the band within the space.  For this album, the band stripped back the arrangements and placed a matured, more direct concentration on the intimate vocal of K. Craig.  The changed line-up brings piano, tenor guitar and heavily-processed guitar effects and waves of analogue synth to the fore, creating a timeless, ephemeral recording.
