February 20th 2012 will see the release of the brand new album from Michael Hadreas, aka Perfume Genius, “Put Your Back N 2 It”. His debut LP “Learning”, released in 2010, established Seattle native Hadreas firmly as one of the most singular new voices in music, winning plaudits across the pond.
Where “Learning” was stark and confessional however, “Put Your Back N 2 It” is lush and universal, and sees an expansion of both his thematic and sonic palette, playing as a broad meditation on intimacy, power, family, secrecy and hope, not just through his impressionistic lyrics, but through the music itself as well.
