Former Gene vocalist, Martin Rossiter has unveiled his new song the tender, introspective vocals and solumn piano notes of ‘No One Left To Blame’. The song is taken from his forthcoming solo album ‘‘The Defenestration of St Martin’ out on November 26th.

After a eight year sabbatical from the music industry, Martin Rossiter returns with a lyrically raw set of torch songs to mend and break hearts. Martin was, of course, the front man of the 90s group Gene.

Part of the Welsh diaspora, Martin was dragged up on the melodies of Charles Wesley and the gritty glamour of Shirley Bassey. This heritage suffuses Martin’s debut, an album of tender meditations on life.

Martin will be releasing his new solo album,‘The Defenestration of St Martin’ on Monday 26th November in collaboration with Pledge Music. As we see a surge in the number of early 90’s bands reuniting to return to the stage and record new records, Martin’s primary focus is on his new solo material, with a Gene reformation not presently under consideration. From Tuesday August 28th Martin Rossiter’s album will be available to buy at www.pledgemusic.com/projects/martinrossiter . There will be a range of delights to buy including the album as a download, CD and vinyl. Also, you will be able to buy downloads of Martin’s first solo gig at the Unitarian Church in Brighton and an EP of cover versions. There’s a sheet music book of the album, hand made screen prints of the artwork and a new T-shirt. There are also a couple of very exclusive items–unique prototype artworks that Martin made when designing the cover and the coat he wore on Top Of The Pops singing For ‘The Dead’ with Gene. A full list of campaign items can be fond at the bottom of this email. Finally I’m delighted that 1% of the all of the money raised will go to the League Against Cruel Sports. They work tirelessly giving a voice to the voiceless. After Martin has covered all release costs he will up the pledge to them to 3% of profits.
