Track Of The Day #161: Enfant – Border Of Mexico

Enfant, an electronic music duo consisting of twin brothers Ali and Robin Owen who are from South London….And their track ‘Border of Mexico’ is today’s offering giving us a tantalizing futuristic glimpse of their promise its bricolage of glacial synth sweeps, playful basslines and dazzlingly addictive melodies, capture the hedonistic themes of the song. What’s more it comes replete with a startlingly good video which is redolent of 70s Sci-fi movies and interspersed with scenes of religious and man made devastation. It’s by Enfant, written and edited by film director David Moya, according to the press release “it follows a man who has come back to Earth from space in a time where the human race has expanded across space and left Earth. It traces this man back to his origins when man lived on Earth but through its actions destroyed it.”

“The track was inspired by a trip to Mexico and is really just about letting go, losing inhibitions and letting your passions take over” say the twins. “So many people come from the States to Mexico to party and do things they can’t do in America and so it’s about going to a place (not just a physical place) where you can ditch your shackles and be/do whatever it is you want.”
