I don’t really count myself as a fan of Soundgarden. Their brand of grunge, coming out of Seattle in the early nineties, was a little too brash for my liking, so I stuck with Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Twenty years on and the band are reunited and have just released what is only their sixth studio album, ‘King Animal’. You know what, it ain’t half bad! The material is perhaps slightly more commercial than before and Kim Thayil’s guitar work has rarely been better. I suggest you take a listen too.
