“The debut video from The Understudies, ‘Erikia K’, is finally here. Directed by Michael James Hall (Ghost Carriage Phantoms), the video itself is a beautifully retro nod to band egotism and ’70s british humour while the song is an homage to the novel ‘The Piano Teacher’ by Elfriede Jelinek, later filmed by Michael Haneke starring the luminescent Isabelle Huppert. The line “Let desire guide your hand” is a direct quote from the novel and there is also direct reference to a specific scene set at a drive-in cinema. The song will feature on The Understudies’ forthcoming debut LP which is due out next summer. The band are currently seeking a lebel to release the album through following their recent single releases on Oddbox Records.”
