Here is the brief story of Two Wounded Birds. Three guys and one gal from Margate who formed a band in 2010, released a debut EP at the beginning of 2011 to a rapturous reception, then two more singles last year, that received similar acclaim. Time for the album then and the self-titled full-lengther came out in June this year and got the thumbs up from similar quarters. What next? Why, split up of course. I know not why but a sad loss they are. They play sixties influenced material, with strong harmonies and well written songs. The guitarist shows evidence of having begun learning his skill from the ‘Hank Marvin’s Guitar Instruction Book’ but it sits well here. Have a mournful listen please do.
