Being an indie band from Manchester tends to suggest a stereotypical sound and so here we have City Reign, who fit that bill nicely. I’m a bit late in discovering their debut album, ‘Another Step’, but discover it I have. It’s old school nineties indie, with some great tunes and strong melodies smothered in nice guitars. The vocalist comes on a bit Billy Bragg, but all of that works well for me, see if it tickles your ivories too.
