Trophy Wife’s eponymous, debut album is now available to download on Bandcamp. Following the album’s release Trophy Wife have also announced that this will be their first and last album, and they will be playing their last shows in June. Parting is such sweet sorrow!The three-piece alt-pop band from Oxford rose to prominence back in 2010 with the buzzed about debut single, ‘Microlite’ on Moshi Moshi. The trio went on to release further wellmaterial, including the ‘Bruxism’ EP which saw them collaborate with Ewan Pearson, Warp records heroes Plaid and Foals frontman, Yannis Phillipakkis. After this, the band took time out to focus on the writing and recording of their debut. Working with producer and longstanding friend, Andrew Halford, the album, simply titled, ‘Trophy Wife’, sees the band push the outer extremities of their sound whilst retaining the same mechanical dance pulse of their earliest material. The band started leaking fragments of the album in the form of a video collage on trophywifeband.tumblr.com with the final video heralding the arrival of this long-awaited release.

We’ve lived and breathed this band for the last three years and it feels like the right time for us to move on after the release of an album we truly love and are all incredibly proud of.
