Here’s a tremendous album that was released right at the start of the year, but I’ve only just stumbled upon. The band are Lyke Giants, comprising three Aussies and their debut album is ‘Fires Thieving Time’, which falls exactly half way between The Cure and Shout Out Louds but leaning on Ned’s Atomic Dustbin (who were a fine underrated band). All that makes for something rather special and an album that will feature rather high on this writer’s year-end listing. I implore you listen, like now!
