Cardiff three-piece Kutosis return with the corking ‘Fear of Flying’ the first track taken from the forthcoming album Dream It Away. A deliciously amped up surf-punk tune that takes their frantic yelping post-punk sound and refines it: lacing double barrel guitar assaults with a US-style slacker sound worthy of the likes of Les Savy Fav, early Surfer Blood and widescreen refrains(“I don’t understand what is in their hearts?”) that drip with the despondent gaze of dream pop. If Kutosis’s criminally over looked ace debut album(in the UK anyway) ‘Fanatical Love’ didn’t do it the first time, then here’s hoping their forthcoming second set of songs ‘Dream It Away’ can propel Kutosis into a wider UK consciousness that they thoroughly deserve alongside other Cardiff acts such as Future of the Left, Los Campesinos, Islet et al…
