Track Of The Day #656: The Venus Lyx – ‘Keep Your Hands Off My Familiar’

Lo fi and loping, The Venus Lyx this week release their debut single ‘Keep Your Hands Off My Familiar’, although the party to honour the occasion isn’t for a few days yet, March 13th at the Garage in Islington to be precise.
We know very little about them, beyond that the band consists of brothers.  It’s enough that we like the song, although the accompanying PR blurb is entertaining  enough to repeat in all its whimsical fullness here “Keep Your Hands Off My Familiar’ is a tempestuous tale. One of witchcraft and zealotry, biblical wrath and holy fire. Of cats, dogs, rats, frogs, and sexual deviancy. You can dance to it, too.”
