With summer sunshine finally here, November may seem like a very unwelcome prospect, but fear not – there is a silver lining! One of our top European Festivals, Iceland Airwaves, have just announced another 46 artists joining the 2015 bill. Bolstering a menacingly impressive line-up that includes Bjork, Perfume Genius, The Pop Group, Father John Misty, East India Youth, Bo Ningen and Sleaford Mods, the latest additions include Mercury Rev, SOAK, Rozi Plain, JME and Aurora.
A relative newcomer on the festival scene, Iceland Airwaves came into being in 1999 and has since secured legions of fans and a global reputation as a tastemaker showcase festival beyond comparison. As in previous years, in addition to international names, the 2015 edition will be presenting a plethora of excellent Icelandic acts, from Bella Union new signees Mammút, to textural pop from Vök and electronica from Tonik Ensemble.
