Location: Brighton, various venues
Dates: 19th – 22nd May
In less than two weeks The Great Escape Festival will be under way in Brighton. If the thought of seeing over 400 bands, including Oh Wonder, Songhoy Blues, Stormzy, Mystery Jets, Young Blood and Tigercub to name a few, in 35 venues isn’t enough to get you chomping at the bit, the festival has just turned us into Pavlovian dogs, by announcing more additions to the line-up.
The Temper Trap have been added to the line-up for the third time. This time, however, they’re taking part of Amazon’s Front Row Live: The Secret Show. The gig will be streamed live on Amazon so fans can hear tracks from their forthcoming album Thick as Thieves live whether they’re in Brighton or in the comfort of their homes.
Def Jam’s Bibi Bourelly is making her live debut on the Hype Machine Stage at the Arch on Saturday 21st. If you enjoyed Rihanna’s ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ then you are already familiar with her. Expect her live show to be as raw as!
Q Magazine are hosting the closing party, at the Corn Exchange, with DMAs and Jagwar Ma on the bill. Their collective blend of Britpop and indie dance, with slabs indie-psych-pop in between, will be the perfect end to what looks set to be a fantastic three days of music!
