NEWS: Cass McCombs shares NSFW video for ‘Medusa’s Outhouse’

It’s not long now before singer-songwriter Cass McCombs releases his brand new album Mangy Love on 26th August via ANTI.  Over his 10 year career, McCombs has become known for writing rebellious lyrics that are also cryptic and shrouded in mystery.  This is again set to be at the forefront of the new record, which aims to take aim at socio-political issues through his own unique lens on the world.

McCombs previously shared the audio for new single ‘Medusa’s Outhouse,’ where he employs typically colourful imagery and Americana-tinged melodies into a downbeat meditation.  Directed by Aaron Brown, the new video was shot around a porn set and the camera often lingers on many of the strange mundanities of this environment.  It’s contemplative, curiously hypnotic and, obviously, contains a fair bit of nudity and a few very slightly obscured sexual acts.  The clip ends with an extended section of footage where some of the stars talk about unfulfilled and broken dreams, as well as what it’s like to be a porn actor.  It’s fascinating, but definitely NSFW.  Watch below.

McCombs is also set to play his only UK date at London’s Scala on 7th November.  Tickets are on sale now.
