NEWS: Grandaddy announce new LP ‘Last Place,’ and UK tour

It’s been 10 years since Californian lo-fi rockers Grandaddy released their last album Just Like the Fambly Cat but a new album seemed to be in the works when they played new material at this year’s Green Man Festival.  They’ve now just announced that they’ll return with a new LP – Last Place – which is out on 3rd March 2017 via 30th Century Records.  To coincide with the announcement, they’ve also released a brand new song, ‘Way We Won’t,’ and a video starring Jason Ritter directed by Chris Grieder.

Grandaddy’s Jason Lytle told NPR: “To be honest, I would have loved to have made a video based exactly on the lyrics of this song […]  But I really like [director] Chris Grieder’s treatment because the main character is an outsider who has taken to wandering and can’t get accepted (picked up) by a varying array of characters.  I felt it was important to place a girl in the cast of characters, someone who had some attachment to the loner guy and perhaps, just perhaps, was responsible for putting him on that lonely road.  I have to say my absolute favourite part is the very end (you have to watch it).”  Watch below.

The group are also headed out on a large tour of the UK in March and April 2017.  Details below.

26th March – Hoults Yard, Newcastle
27th March – Irish Centre, Leeds
28th March – Albert Hall, Manchester
29th March – Rock City, Nottingham
31st March – Colston Hall, Bristol
1st April – Concorde 2, Brighton
3rd April – Roundhouse, London
