NEWS: Low share new song ‘Some Hearts (At Christmas Time)’

Alt-Americana band Low are playing tracks from their seminal 1999 EP Christmas on a special tour of the UK and Ireland this month.  The eight-song EP is often listed as one of the best collection of Christmas songs ever made, and was championed by the likes of John Peel.  The tour will see them playing tracks such as ‘Just Like Christmas’ and covers like ‘Little Drummer Boy’ and ‘Silent Night.’

To coincide with the festive tour, the trio have released a brand new song, ‘Some Hearts (At Christmas Time).’  The track sees Mimi Parker taking the lead, with Alan Sparhawk providing processed backing vocals and a memorable guitar motif.  The band said: “To friends who have moved away and friends who have passed on this year.  To one and all, especially those who are alone, we wish you a Merry Christmas and new hope for the new year.  May we all find ways to lift each other.  With love, Mimi, Alan and Steve.”  Listen below.

Most dates for Low’s Christmas tour of the UK and Ireland are already sold out, but there are still some tickets left for the following dates:

2nd December – Opera House, Buxton
12th December – Empire, Belfast
14th December – Set Theatre, Kilkenny
