NEWS: Deep Throat Choir announce new album ‘Be OK’

Percussion and voice-based alt-pop group Deep Throat Choir have announced that they’ll be releasing their debut album Be OK on 3rd March via Bella Union.  Deep Throat Choir was started by Luisa Gerstein of Landshapes and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs back in 2013, driven by a desire to push the limits of voice while accompanying it only with minimal percussion.  At first the group had only four or five people, but the choir has now grown in size dramatically, now with over 30 members.

Be OK is set to be the manifestation of Gerstein’s desire to sing and arrange the music she loves, both stripping it back to its basic elements while also boosting it with the power of multiple voices.  It’s the culmination of material they have been performing over the last three years, and alongside some of their own material, there are covers of songs by Björk, Little Dragon, Amy Winehouse and many more.  They’ve also shared the title track, one of the group’s original compositions.  Listen below.
