PREVIEW: The Great Escape Festival 2019

Brighton’s annual music showcase fast approaches. Along with this year’s showcase spots from Foals and Lewis Capaldi, and the inevitable great parties from the likes of Little Simz, Fat White Family and Confidence Man, there’s, of course, the expansive list of musicians from across the world hoping to make an impression beyond their weird band name. See you at the front for Psychedelic Porn Crumpets.

  1. I can personally recommend Pom Poko. While “Norwegian art-pop four-piece making deliciously undefinable math-disco with a punk edge” isn’t inaccurate it doesn’t really do them justice. I’m hard-pressed to think of another band which brings their degree of dynamism to a show while at the same time having total mastery of their instruments. There is a recent (April) live review in GIITTV.
