In the latest Lockdown Live Session created exclusively for God is in the TV, we have the wonderfully obtuse but defiantly pop Adam & Elvis. This session, recorded in a secret location in the dark undergrowth of London town, features lead singer Patrick Malone showcasing three brand-new previously unreleased songs.
Adam & Elvis are London & Reading based 7-piece band gaining increasing momentum and popularity on the UK scene. Their recently released second album Pub Grub offers a perfect snapshot of their ability to combine delirious pop hooks with lyrics that discuss serious ideas but in a refreshingly unserious, humorous way.
The songs played in this session continue this idea: the daft hat and bemusing decision to use a megaphone masquerading a sincere desire to write about things outside of the parochial introspection that defines much indie pop. Racism, gentrification, desperate intoxication are all presented with brilliant humour, zero pretension and wriggling ear-worm melodies.
Tracklist:
1. An Ode to Bournemouth Calamari
2. The Dog Walker and the Shoe
3. One Month’s Salary
