NEWS: Dominion Festival – brand new three-day metal event launches

When: 29th – 31st July 2022
Where: Ushaw Historic House Chapel and Gardens, Co. Durham, England

Dominion Festival is a brand new three-day festival taking place in the North East of England and showcasing metal, heavy metal and hard rock bands. It is set in the stunning surroundings of Ushaw Historic House, Chapels and Gardens, just 15 minutes away from Durham City Centre. This 5000-capacity festival takes place over the last weekend in July this year.

A total of 42 bands are scheduled to appear on two stages over the weekend including exclusive headliners Cradle of Filth and Blind Guardian. Other bands on the bill include Sodom, HämatomPhil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, THECITYISOURS, INME, GBH, and Evil Scarecrow with many more acts still to be added.

“Since Sonisphere left the UK in 2011, we have bemoaned the lack of a large-scale festival showcasing metal from across the spectrum. There are some fantastic specialist events out there but nothing with the breadth and variety that the genre truly has to offer. Working with a variety of partners and other local promoters, we’re aiming to put the North-East truly back on the metal map with this open-air event which can grow to become the regional home of everything hard and fast!” Alex Hutchinson – Operations Director, Wannasee.
