NEWS: Beabadoobee reveals video for new single, ‘Lovesong,’ ahead of ‘Beatopia’ album and tour

Gen Z icon, Beabadoobee, has just revealed the video for her new single, ‘Lovesong’, giving us a taste of what is to come on her forthcoming album Beatopia, out on 15th July.

Bea’s voice has that honey-dripped glaze of contemporaries such as Phoebe Bridgers and the intimate confessional tone of Elliot Smith.  While many of her previous releases, such as ‘Talk’, have a heavier soundscape, ‘Lovesong’ recalls Bea’s acoustic origins and is elevated with stirring violins and the twinkle of piano keys, echoing the rain outside her bedroom window.

Bea said, “’Lovesong’ is a song that I had written in bits since my second EP. The chorus was already written since Loveworm. I just didn’t have any chords to sing it with. And yeah, it’s just another love song, another sweet love song. It was one of the last I recorded for Beatopia.”

Alongside previous singles, ’Talk’ and ‘See You Soon’, ‘’Lovesong’ is another taste of Beabadoobee’s thrilling, diverse and experimental album.  After 2020’s acclaimed LP, Fake it Flowers,  2022’s Beatopia  “marks a huge progression. In 14 songs she traverses fuzzy rock, psychedelia, classic singer songwriter, Midwest Emo and outright pop while remaining undeniably herself throughout.”
