Chicago’s Beach Bunny, have just released their sun-kissed, bombastic indie anthem, ‘Entropy.’ What started as a solo bedroom project for singer and guitarist, Lili Trifilio, soon exploded and became an online sensation when their self-released 2018 track, Prom Queen, was streamed more that 67 Million times. Four years later, and Beach Bunny has had over a billion streams and has sold over sixty thousand tickets since lockdown.
After signing to Mom +Pop Records, they released their pop-punk debut album, Honeymoon in 2020 and are set to release their second LP, Emotional Creature on 22nd July. Their new single, ‘Entropy,‘ gives us taste of the forthcoming album with emotional honesty and soaring, anthemic vocals that you can imagine singing at the top of your lungs with the windows down on a summer road trip. Trifilio has that honesty and defiance of Alanis Morissette, which echoes the internal monologues of a generation. The track is embroidered with jangling guitar riffs, channelling her favourite formative post Y2K pop icons like Kelly Clarkson and the Jonas Brothers and has a similar vulnerable, yet powerful energy of contemporary indie favourites, The Beths.
This new video finds Trifilio and the band back in space continuing part two of three of their Star Wars meets Star Trek galactic adventure.
The new album, Emotional Creature, produced by Sean O’Keefe (Fall Out Boy and Motion City Sound track) soars to “new heights of magnetic energy and dives to new depths of unguarded vulnerability further cementing Trifilio’s well-earned reputation as the leading voice of her generation.” It is out on 22nd July and can be pre ordered and pre saved here: https://www.beachbunnymusic.com/
