Video Of The Week #242: TEll A ViSiON – Mockumentary

TEll A ViSiON releases her fourth single ‘Mockumentary’ on 8th February via Duchess Box Records and has announced the release of the projects debut album for the summer of 2023. TEll A ViSiON is the moniker of Berlin artist Fee Kurten who recorded her album in East London. Today we are debuting her new video. Watch it below.

‘Mockumentary’ captures a disorientating and dissociated feeling of being in a film as fragments of thoughts swirl around trippy beats and fragments of spindly bass lines, and inventive electronic cut ups. Coming together in the insidious wonky pop chorus, it’s intoxicating and disarming in all the right places!

Speaking about the song Fee says:

While I was writing MOCKUMENTARY’ I was imagining that in the music video, the room I am standing in would dissolve and the walls and things float apart. Sometimes the world seems like a film or a situation feels like a scene in a movie.
I sometimes suddenly watch myself from outside and everything seems to move in slow-motion. Furthermore I switch perspective all the time, like a camera in a movie. I am looking at things from different angles, it sometimes overwhelms me. The world is so real that it sometimes seems surreal.

Having formally been part of a long term music project TEll A ViSiON became a new project in 2022 with a revitalized direction, a rebirth. The new demos caught the attention of Duchess Box Records who swiftly took the artist for a record deal and have been working to start the hype with the first singles gaining more and more attention with each one.

Fee Kurten started making music as a child in her hometown of Hamburg and was laying down rap tunes throughout her teenage years. TEll A ViSiON fuses a mix of influences from early hip hop, new wave, dub. trip hop and post punk.
