Llais, Wales Millennium Centre’s international arts festival, returned this year with yet another eclectic programme inspired by the instrument that connects us all – the voice.
This year’s events included a performance of Both Sides Now: Celebrating Joni Mitchell – an ode to the iconic performer featuring an incredible line-up of all female singers including Cardiff’s very own Charlotte Church, British singer Laura Mvula, multi-instrumentalist ESKA , Georgia Ruth, and Olivia Chaney. These formidable talents were joined by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales in a world first orchestral performance of Both Sides Now.
Other highlights from this year’s event included performances from Bat For Lashes, James Yorkston and Nina Persson, Mariza, LEMFRECK, Nookee, SOURCE, and Mill$.
