NEWS: FOCUS Wales add 100 new artists to their line up for 2024

FOCUS Wales have revealed their largest international presence to date, as 100 new artists are announced and added to the festival line up. 

Artists from over 20 different countries will perform at FOCUS Wales Festival, seeing the biggest international presence to date for the event this May, including artists from Australia, Quebec, Spain, France, and South Korea.

Amongst the 100 new artists added to the bill today are Akine, NFNR, and Ratmir Bilodid from Ukraine, who are being supported to attend the event through a new project partnership with British Council, along with representatives from Music Export Ukraine. From Québec, ALIAS, DVTR, Bon Enfant, and La Sécurité join the line up, as part of an ongoing cultural exchange between FOCUS Wales and M for Montreal. 

Other artists announced today include contemporary folk duo Charm of Finches from Australia, award winning Nova Scotian hip-hop artist, Kayo, and ‘post-punk noise’ band W!ZARD from Bordeaux, France, who recently performed at a packed out Eurosonic showcase.

To round things off, FIRE Records will be celebrating their 40th anniversary with a special showcase on the Friday night at FOCUS Wales 2024, featuring performances from critically acclaimed artists Graham Reynolds, Ella Raphael, and a secret set to be revealed during the festival.

These new 100 artists join an already prestigious line up which includes Spiritualized, The Mysterines, The Royston Club, Deerhoof, Skinny Pelembe, Snapped Ankles, The Bug Club, Willy Mason, Benefits, Angeline Morrison, Flamingods, Adwaith, Cerys Hafana, Fat Dog, Magugu, and Melin Melyn

FOCUS Wales takes place in multiple venues across the city of Wrexham, North Wales across 9th – 11th May 2024. Over 250 artists showcase during the event, alongside 3 days of interactive music industry sessions at the FOCUS Wales conference, plus a 2 day film festival.

God is in the TV is an online music and culture fanzine founded in Cardiff by the editor Bill Cummings in 2003. GIITTV Bill has developed the site with the aid of a team of sub-editors and writers from across Britain, covering a wide range of music from unsigned and independent artists to major releases.
