Nominations for The Ivors with Amazon Music 2024 have been revealed. The awards celebrate and recognise outstanding composers and songwriters across eight categories – including Best Album, Best Contemporary Song, Best Original Film Score, PRS for Music Most Performed Work and the Rising Star Award with Amazon Music.
This year, 77 songwriters and composers have received Ivor Novello nominations, described as the world’s most prestigious songwriting awards. 60% of those nominated are receiving a nomination for the first time. Sampha and Yussef Dayes lead the way with two nominations each across songwriting categories, while composer Daniel Pemberton is nominated twice in the screen categories.
Along with Dayes and Sampha, RAYE, CMAT and Lankum are in the running for Best Album, which celebrates consistent and inventive creativity, as well as exceptional song writing.
Nominations for Best Song Musically and Lyrically include Tom Odell, who receives his second nomination is as many years for ‘Black Friday’, and Yussef Dayes and Sampha who receive their second nominations for co-writing Sampha’s ‘Spirit 2.0’. 2023 Rising Star winner Victoria Canal returns with ‘Black Swan’, The Japanese House receive a first nomination for ‘Sunshine Baby’ and Blur are nominated for ‘The Narcissist’, 29 years on from the band’s first Ivor nomination.
Jungle, Jazzy and Kenya Grace all receive their first Ivor Novello Award nominations. Elsewhere, Harry Styles, Kae Tempest, Fred again.. & Brian Eno, PinkPantheress & Ice Spice are also recognised.

From established voices to rising stars, this year’s list reflects an ever-evolving musical landscape and celebrates the writing craft that soundtracks our lives.”
In addition to the awards, Bruce Springsteen will become a fellow of The Ivors Academy. The iconic US musician will become the first-ever international songwriter to be inducted into the Fellowship in its 80-year history.
First presented in 1956, The Ivors are recognised as the pinnacle of creative musical achievement. Previous winners include Amy Winehouse, Annie Lennox, Stormzy, Paul McCartney and John Lennon.
