London based dream pop band Novella have announced their debut release. A limited edition 7″ on August 15th. The A-side is ‘The Things You Do’ with ‘Oh Brian’ on the reverse, you can listen to the tracks at their soundcloud here :
Oh Brian by Novella.

Novella are London-based Sophy Hollington, Hollie Warren and Suki Sou. They met in Brighton and formed the band in February 2010 after they all moved up to the capital. After spending months in each other’s bedrooms writing and listening to bands like Polvo, Guided by Voices, Broadcast, Calico Wall and My Bloody Valentine, they decided to put a band together themselves and began playing shows in Autumn last year.

Having only played a couple of live shows this year, they have spent the past six months honing their sound and song-writing. The band recently recorded six tracks with Rory Attwell of Brattwell Recordings and their debut split release will be two songs from these sessions.

Released on August 15th, through Dirty Bingo on limited edition 7”, the A– Side to their debut is ‘The Things You Do’. The B –side ‘Oh Brian’ is a song about New World Order, mass suicide and the band’s tribute to Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Novella combine a guitar sound of Pixies-inspired crispness with a wallowing dirge of noise, set off by melodic, interwoven bass lines. Live, they add a drummer to the
line-up to play as a four-piece whilst Sophy, Hollie and Suki swap between instruments during sets.

After a live show at 1234 festival and more live dates in the pipeline expect
more announcements from Novella soon.
