Following her captivating solo performance at Platform Bar & Terrace last month and the intimate in-store show at Rough Trade, The Fiery Furnaces’ Eleanor Friedberger has announced European live dates for her new solo work, including a UK show on December 1st at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club.
Accompanied by her full live band, this will be the first time the UK has had the opportunity to hear tracks from Eleanor’s debut solo album ‘Last Summer’ as she intended them to be heard and will be against the backdrop of this original 1950s East-end boozer with it’s retro decor. Recently released stateside, ‘Last Summer’ has received great reviews and is now ready to make its European debut. It is to be released here through Merge on November 14th.
The first single to be taken from the album – ‘My Mistakes’ – will be released on November 7th. Directed by Sara Magenheimer, whose previous credits include Destroyer’s wonderfully imaginative video for ‘Kaputt’ and Deerhoof’s ‘Family of Others’, you can see the video for Friedberger’s frank autobiographical track
