Kathryn William’s new band project The Pond unveil their first release – a FREE download single ‘Bebop’ – taken from their forthcoming eponymous album (One Little Indian, 28th May). Download ‘Bebop’ for free from Kathryn’s Facebook page. You can also catch a sneak preview of new song ‘The River’ at www.thepondmusic.com

Described as  a ‘democratic mud pit’, The Pond (Kathryn Williams and fellow musicians, Simon Edwards and Ginny Clee) is a pop project – more Gorillaz than Guthrie – that will take many by surprise. For Kathryn – currently in the middle of a creative purple patch – it’s a bold and exciting move involving a popourri of vintage beats, 60’s pop, tape loops, Eastern notes – and in the case of ‘Bebop’, a rapper, Kirsch. Adrian Utley’s mix gives the bright, ultra-vivid melodies a depth and louché sophistication.
