Track Of The Day #78: Superchunk – This Summer

In the UK, we have now recognised that we only have a Summer on a random basis, roughly every five years. Clearly, 2012 is not one of those years and so we need to try and embrace the rain, as it is apparently good for the gardens (not mine, the grass is taller than my two young sons!). Summer songs are not to be taken too seriously and today’s ditty is a dose of good time power indie/punk. It’s by a band called Superchunk, who come from North Carolina where it is always Summer. They have released the attached as a single and backed it with a splendid cover of Bananarama’s ‘Cruel Summer’. Don those sandals and sun cream and go dancing in that rain.
