There are times when simplicity is the greatest attraction in a piece of music. Sure, it’s essential to keep moving forward and spawning new sounds, but now and again it’s great to hear a song that just captures the pure essence of a genre.

Dead Wolf Club, who earlier this year put out their debut album, specialise in delivering straightforward indie rock and roll, and their latest single “News At Ten” is a perfect example of this. The discerning ear will detect elements of post-punk and shoegaze in the three minutes and fifty-one seconds on offer; and at times they draw comparisons with artists such as The Joy Formidable, but adding a little more punch.
