VIDEO PREMIERE: Robert Vincent – Riot’s Cry

Liverpudlian Robert Vincent is about to release his new single “Riot’s Cry” on October 22nd, and we have the exclusive video for it here:

His classical widescreen 60s sound is infused with his distinctive gravelly voice, and bittersweet couplets that hint at both personal relationships and the politics of the streets drip from his mouth. He’s already received support from Mark Radcliffe and Janice Long his forthcoming album “Life In Easy Steps” is out in January.

Robert is originally from Crosby North Liverpool- as a child Robert knew he wanted to be a musician and even left school at 16 to pursue his musical career. But he was becoming more and more frustrated by the cover bands he was playing in and wanted to play original stuff.

At 17 his career aspiration came to a halt as his girlfriend became pregnant. Suddenly music became second fiddle to providing for the baby. Robert took up jobs in catering and for a while even dabbled as an estate agent- but there was always a band.

Having never lost his faith in music Robert continued playing in bands, one of his bands won the chance to represent Liverpool at a festival marking 50 years of Rock n Roll in Memphis and the chance to record in the legendary Sun Studios. Sadly the band fell apart just as everything was happening.

Rob now is even more determined to get his music out there and has teamed up with Grammy award winning producer Pete Smith to record his forthcoming album “Life In Easy Steps” out in January.
