Changing tact, and to a degree direction, our favorite Polish electric pop siren, Pati Yang, has journeyed in a leftfield direction on her latest ‘taster’, ‘I Am Ready’ – free to download whilst the link still works!
Far more brooding and elegiac than her last two heart-pranged electro protestations, Wires And Sparks and Hold Your Horses, this esoteric, strange soundscape that Yang calls home, is an intense affair.
Although a feature of the European electronic pop scene for a while, Yang only went solo last year; garnering a favourable reception (especially with me) and comparisons to a myriad of influences – though none of them bare any relation, as Pati is very much her own person. Her upcoming album is scheduled for later in the year, of which this is just a precursor.
