Track Of The Day #273: The Thermals – Faces Stay With Me

Incredibly, ‘Desperate ground’ is the sixth album by the Portland (Oregon, not Dorset) trio, The Thermals.  I only really latched onto them with 2010’s ‘Personal Life’, which remains a fine album.  This follow-up is also rather good and is a nice reminder of eighties pre-grunge America. There’s a hint of REM and The Levellers for good measure too, so take a listen, if you will.
