VIDEO PREMIERE: Martha – Present, Tense

North East Martha’s are one of the most smile inducing new bands to clamber over ground this year. Their debut album ‘Courting Strong’ struggled to contain their brand of fuzzy harmony driven punkiness laced with a distinctive northern wit and giddiness that belies the bittersweet lyrics that speak of loves lost and dead end situations. We are quite frankly chuffed to be housing the premiere for the video to their forthcoming single “Present, Tense” which is due out on Fortuna POP! on 20th October. Watch it with your eyes, below.

‘Hailing from Pity Me near Durham, vegan straight-edgers MARTHA released their debut album Courting Strong in May via Fortuna POP! Providing energetic, impassioned pop punk, Martha are informed by 90s indie rock and Scandinavian anarcho noir. The album, produced by MJ from Hookworms, is laden with harmonies and interchangeable vocals whilst still retaining the energy and excitement of the band’s live shows.

Formed in 2011 by siblings Naomi (bass, vocals) and Nathan Griffin (drums, vocals) with J. Cairns “JC” (guitar, vocals) and Daniel Ellis (guitar, vocals), Martha have fast become a staple of the UK DIY pop scene.

Live Dates:

Oct 10 – Durham – Alington House w/ RVIVR
