2015 has been a good year for Meilyr Jones. Following a string of mesmerising performances at this summer’s festivals, he’s won the hearts of music fans and critics alike. And now he brings us another treat, sharing the second single, ‘Don Juan’, from his debut LP 2013 due out early next year on Moshi Moshi.
Immersing himself in the role of Byron’s misunderstood libertine, this unmistakably baroque-inspired pastoral yet wilful composition is about heartache and denial, and you can hear it right now.
If you missed Meilyr’s festival appearances, he will be supporting Richard Hawley on the Sheffield luminary’s autumn UK tour, starting in Liverpool on 23rd October and culminating at Southampton’s O2 Guildhall on the 10th November.
